Warren Zaïre Emery, being only 17 years old, had to obtain permission from his parents for the upcoming trip with the French national team to Greece.
As a minor who is not yet of legal age, his parents remain legally responsible for him. Therefore, mom and dad had to sign an authorization for him to leave the country, a requirement for minors since 2017.
Zaïre-Emery, at just 17 years old (he will turn 18 on March 8, 2024), will be part of the French squad for the upcoming away game in Greece next Tuesday (8:45 PM). For this trip, the young player had to provide parental authorization to leave the country, in accordance with the law of June 3, 2016, related to counter-terrorism.
This law, in effect since January 15, 2017, stipulates that a minor residing in France, regardless of nationality, cannot leave French territory without prior authorization if not accompanied by at least one of their parents or a person with parental authority.
The regulation applies to both individual and collective travel, including trips with sports teams, as is the case here with the French national team.
