After Rennes’ victory over Nantes (3-2) in the West Derby on Sunday, a humorous scene involving the mascots of both teams unfolded.
Erminig, the Stade Rennais mascot, tackled the Nantes mascot, dressed as a canary, at the end of the match. This lighthearted performance was staged to entertain the spectators and conclude the derby on a humorous note.
Despite this « incident, » Nantes’ mascot quickly got up and was carried off the field on a stretcher to the amused looks of the spectators in the Roazhon Park stands. There was no serious concern about its health, and this scene helped lighten the mood after a tense match on the field.
