There are reports suggesting that Lionel Messi might make a return to Barcelona in Europe, potentially in the winter transfer window.
This speculation arises from the possibility of a loan move, similar to what Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Beckham did in the past, facilitated by MLS regulations.
According to Catalan press reports, including the newspaper Sport, a return of Lionel Messi to Barcelona is not entirely out of the question. The scenario being discussed is that Messi could be loaned back to FC Barcelona for six months, beginning in January.
However, this possibility comes with a condition: it depends on whether Inter Miami, the MLS team Messi currently plays for, manages to qualify for the MLS playoffs. If Inter Miami fails to secure a playoff spot, the MLS season will be over for them, opening up the chance for Messi to be loaned back to Barcelona. It’s important to note that this is currently speculative, as no official sources have confirmed this potential move.
