The start of the season in Barcelona is tinged with optimism and excitement, largely thanks to the resurgence of their young talent, Lamine Yamal : the young player just signed a new contract with Barça.
Lamine Yamal, at just 16 years of age, has left football enthusiasts on both sides of the Pyrenees spellbound. He signed a new contract with Barça to secure his future.
As expected, Lamine Yamal’s new contract is nothing short of extraordinary, given his tender age of 16. Initially, the contract follows a standard format for young players, spanning a maximum of three years, keeping him at the club until 2026. However, when he turns 18 in 2025, the terms will be revisited and his salary is set to increase substantially. Currently, he will earn a staggering 3 million euros per year, a figure that is unprecedented for a player of his age.
To deter potential suitors, Barcelona has included a jaw-dropping release clause in Yamal’s contract – a mind-boggling one billion euros. This exorbitant amount is designed to ward off any big clubs eyeing his services.
