Xabi Alonso, the Bayer Leverkusen coach, is Liverpool’s main target to succeed the German coach. However, this option proves challenging to materialize, as the Spaniard is under contract until June 2026 and faces competition from Bayern Munich.
If negotiations with Alonso fail, Liverpool is seriously considering turning to Ruben Amorim, the current coach of Sporting Portugal, according to information from The Independent. The Portuguese is even seen as Liverpool’s true plan B, ahead of Brighton’s tactician, Roberto De Zerbi.
