Manchester United players have been grappling with tight-fitting adidas jerseys, prompting some to resort to wearing supporter jerseys instead.
In addition to their on-field challenges, Manchester United is now facing a jersey-related controversy as players have complained about the snugness of their adidas jerseys. According to reports from The Daily Mail, several players have voiced their discontent, and adidas is actively seeking a solution.
The situation has become so severe that Manchester United has not worn its official home socks since the second game of the season, a 2-0 loss to Tottenham. Goalkeeper Andre Onana has also experienced difficulties with his match jersey, leading him to choose a replica version that offers a looser fit. This decision was made following Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Sheffield United on October 21, as Onana found the original kit too constricting.
Furthermore, there have been complaints about the tightness of the socks around the players’ calves, to the extent that some players have taken matters into their own hands by cutting holes in the back of the socks.
Adidas is planning to address these kit-related issues for the players in the coming month, making « light amendments » to provide a more comfortable fit, as reported by The Daily Mail.
