Approximately twelve days ago, the parents of Liverpool player Luis Diaz were abducted at a gas station in Colombia. His father, recently released from captivity, has finally spoken out.
While the player’s mother was quickly freed, his father remained in the custody of the kidnappers. After an extended period of captivity, the Colombian Football Federation announced the liberation of Luis Manuel Diaz’s father.
In a statement, the Federation expressed gratitude to the national government, military and police forces, as well as all institutions and officials involved in the release.
« Luis (Diaz) told me to stay strong and find the strength to recover from what happened. I want to thank God for the second chance he has given me, as well as all the residents of Barrancas. Let’s lay down the weapons, pick up a pen and paper, and work for peace in Colombia, » said the father of the Liverpool player.
