In celebration of World Animal Day and with the aim of raising awareness about dog adoption, players from the Brazilian club Fortaleza took to the field, each walking a dog on a leash.
A rather unusual scene unfolded in the Brazilian football league. Instead of the customary presence of children accompanying players onto the field, the players were joined by dogs from the São Lázaro shelter in Fortaleza.
At the end of the match, which Fortaleza won 3-2 against FC América in the Brazilian championship, fans were given the opportunity to adopt these dogs. It was a heartwarming initiative to promote the adoption of abandoned dogs.
