UEFA unveiled on Saturday the prize money for Euro 2024, which will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14. Each victory will earn a team 1 million euros, with a ceiling of 28.25 million euros to be achieved for the champion by aggregating all the prizes.
Euro 2024 looks set to be a jackpot for the winning team. The total amount allocated for prizes reaches 331 million euros, comparable to the Euro 2020 edition. In case of victory, a team will pocket 1 million euros, and 500,000 euros for a draw. The European champion can aspire to a maximum amount of 28.25 million euros in total (by winning all its matches).
Each team will receive the participation prize set at 9.25 million euros. Then, teams qualifying for the Round of 16 will each receive 1.5 million euros, while those reaching the quarter-finals will benefit from 2.5 million euros.
There will also be additional bonuses of 4 million euros reserved for teams reaching the semi-finals. The finalists, in turn, will receive a payment of 5 million euros. Finally, the European champion, succeeding Italy, will be awarded an additional prize of 8 million euros.
In line with previous competitions, players traditionally receive 30% of the total prize money. If this distribution continues, the 23 members of the French team could potentially share nearly 9.5 million euros.
