Mathys Tel, at just 18 years old, has rapidly emerged as one of Bayern Munich’s most promising young stars.
Born in Sarcelles, France, Tel has, however, been relegated to a backup role in Bavaria, primarily due to Harry Kane’s exceptional performances since the start of the season. Despite this, Europe’s top clubs are keeping a close eye on this young talent.
The French forward arrived at Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022, already attracting attention from major clubs. In a recent interview with Le Média Carré, Tel revealed that he turned down an offer from Real Madrid to join the reigning Bundesliga champions. His bold choice underscores the appeal and confidence he has in Bayern Munich’s project.
« Real Madrid or Bayern? It’s true that many clubs wanted me in 2022. That’s very true. But I was solely focused on Bayern; I didn’t have any other opportunity because I liked their project and the people behind the project, » he stated.
