In an interview with several media outlets, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi addresses the hot topics surrounding PSG: relations with the Mbappé family and Messi’s critiques.

Messi, feeling unhappy in Paris, not well-regarded, not celebrated after the World Cup… The Argentine has criticized PSG in recent weeks. But this doesn’t seem to bother PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, who responds diplomatically.

« There’s a lot of talk outside, I don’t know what he did or didn’t say. As everyone saw – we even released a video – we celebrated Messi in training (when he won the World Cup), and we also celebrated him privately, » Al-Khelaïfi said.

« But with respect – we are a French club. It was, of course, sensitive to celebrate at the stadium. We must respect the country he defeated – his teammates from the French national team, and our supporters too. But he was celebrated, and he’s an incredible player – we were proud to have him here, » he added about the Argentine international.

NAK (Nasser Al-Khelaïfi) then wanted to ease tensions with Mbappé and his family. « The problems we’ve had stay within the family, and Kylian is part of the family. I’m proud of what he’s doing – and what the whole team is doing. We have the best player in the world, and for me, he deserves the Ballon d’Or, » concluded the PSG boss. The message is clear.
